More than just a place to stay

Life at Lee Abbey London is about becoming part of a welcoming international community where friendships are formed, cultures are shared, and lasting memories are made. Our Christian team lives alongside and serves students of all faiths and none in our home.

Socials and trips

Throughout the year, we organise a variety of social events designed to bring people together.

Quiz nights, international evenings, live music events and visits to iconic London destinations such as Brick Lane Market, Greenwich, and the West End will help you connect with others and make the most of your time in the city.

Spaces to share

Our games room, shared lounges and communal spaces provide opportunities to relax, study, and spend time with friends.

When you need a moment of peace, our private garden offers a quiet retreat from the energy of central London.

Community life at Lee Abbey is shaped by our residents too. We love it when residents create their own clubs and activities to share their interests. You might start a Bible study, chess, book or running club, or something entirely new — and build community around the things you enjoy.

Our volunteers and staff support you throughout your stay. If you have a question, need practical help, or simply want to chat, you’ll find a warm welcome.

Welcome Week

Starting university in a new city can feel overwhelming. We begin every academic year with our Welcome Week to help you settle in, make new friends, and feel at home from day one.

Through the week, you’ll enjoy a range of activities including speed friending, quiz nights, live music, community meals, and a formal dinner, helping you to meet fellow residents in a relaxed way.

We invite the local Community Liaison Officer from the Metropolitan Police to deliver a practical session on staying safe in the city, as you settle into your London adventure.

We hope that from the very first week you’ll discover not just accommodation, but a community where you can belong, grow, and thrive.
