We offer financial support to students at Lee Abbey London in two particular ways:
Residential scholarships
We offer either free or reduced-price accommodation to a limited number of students either for one term or one academic year, depending on students’ needs and the funds we have available.
To be considered for a Lee Abbey residential scholarship, you must:
- be in financial need;
- be studying on a recognised full-time degree or postgraduate level course;
- have a good academic and attendance record;
- have a scholarship, bursary or loan from another institution to cover your tuition fees;
- have a good behaviour record with Lee Abbey if you are a current or past resident.
Awards are given for 1 year only. We will give preference to students from overseas and those who are already resident at Lee Abbey.
You should submit your application by 31 May each year; we make the awards in early June.

We are particularly grateful to the Cyril Taylor foundation for providing 5 boarding scholarship places for international students in financial need. These are in memory of Sir Cyril Taylor, GBE, who devoted his life to enabling young people have a better life through education.
Hardship Fund
We expect Lee Abbey residents to make suitable arrangements to finance their studies, but we understand that sometimes unexpected circumstances leave you in need of extra support.
You can apply to the Lee Abbey Hardship Fund for a grant, normally between £100 and £500, if you are in financial difficulty and you are:
- a full-time student;
- resident at Lee Abbey for at least one academic year;
- still booked in for at least one more term.
Grants can’t be used towards Lee Abbey accommodation fees.
We will give priority to international students and students with a disability or special medical needs. We might also use the fund to support voluntary Community members who are in unexpected financial difficulty.
